How Much Does A Website Cost In Sri Lanka?
The price of a website in Sri Lanka depends on five things: the number of pages, custom design or template, special features like payments or bookings, who writes the words, and SEO setup. After launch you also pay yearly for your domain and hosting. HypeX WordPress websites cost from under LKR 350,000 to LKR 750,000 or more.
The Five Things That Set The Price
| Cost driver | Costs less | Costs more |
|---|---|---|
| Number of pages | 5 pages or fewer | 20 or more pages, or one page per product or location |
| Design | A ready-made template | A design made only for your business |
| Features | Contact form and WhatsApp button | Online payments, bookings, logins, two languages |
| Words | You write them | The agency writes them and plans them for SEO |
| SEO setup | Basic titles and a sitemap | Keyword research, page plans and tracking |

Yearly Costs Most Quotes Leave Out
Building the site is a one-time cost. Keeping it online is not. Budget for these every year.
| Cost | What it is | Typical cost | How often |
|---|---|---|---|
| .lk domain name | Your web address, like yourbusiness.lk | About LKR 6,000 to 7,000 | Every year |
| .com domain name | A global web address, like yourbusiness.com | Cheaper in year one, renewals often cost more | Every year |
| Hosting | The server that keeps your site online | Local hosts are cheap. Foreign hosts cost more but usually have stronger security | Monthly or yearly |
| Paid plugins or apps | Extra features like booking tools or store add-ons | Depends on the features. Our packages cover the first year | Usually yearly |
| Website maintenance | Updates, security patches, backups and small changes | Small sites from LKR 50,000 per 6 months (100,000 a year). High-end sites on a monthly quote | Every 6 months or monthly |
| SEO | Work to get you onto the first page of Google and into AI answers | From LKR 50,000 a month, varies by market | Monthly until you reach page one. No long contract |
Typical prices as of October 2026. Domain and hosting prices change, so confirm before you buy.
Local Or Foreign Hosting?
Local hosting in Sri Lanka is cheap, and that is fine for many small sites. Bigger websites need more security than most cheap plans give you. Foreign hosting providers usually have stronger security built in, but they cost more.
Either way, someone has to keep the website software updated and safe. That is where a maintenance contract helps. With a bi-annual website maintenance contract, the worry moves from you to us. Your plugins stay updated, your site gets patched and you know who to call when something breaks. See our website maintenance plan.

Website Cost Questions
Why do website quotes in Sri Lanka vary so much?
Quotes cover very different work. A cheap quote may be a free template with your logo added. A higher quote may include custom design, writing, SEO setup, security and training. Always ask for a list of what is included.
Is a cheap website a bad idea?
Not always. A simple site can be fine for a small business starting out. The risk is hidden costs later, like paying again for SEO fixes, security clean-ups or a rebuild when the cheap site cannot grow.
Do I have to pay every year?
Yes, for some things. Your domain name and hosting renew every year. Paid plugins and care plans also have yearly or monthly fees. Ask for these costs up front so the first renewal does not surprise you.
Who should own my domain name?
You should. Register the domain in your business name with your own login. If an agency owns it, moving away from them later can be hard.
